    Product Description

Chalk Hill Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is crafted from grapes grown in the cool climate vineyards of the Sonoma Coast AVA, California by Foley Family Wines. This region is known for its strong moderating influences from the Pacific Ocean and San Pablo Bay, contributing to the wine’s remarkable varietal intensity and balanced acidity. The primary grape used is Chardonnay, sourced from diverse sites within the Sonoma Coast, including the Foley Family estate and partner vineyards in Sonoma Los Carneros, Chalk Hill, and the Russian River Valley. The grapes for this Chardonnay were harvested in the early morning to preserve its vibrant fruit character. The winemaking process involves fermenting the grapes in 100% French oak barrels. This method enhances the wine’s complexity and imparts subtle oak influences. After fermentation, the wine is aged sur lie (on the lees) for 9 months in French oak barrels. This aging process adds richness and depth to the wine, contributing to its full flavors of fresh pear, orange peel, and toasted almond, complemented by mineral notes. And it has 14.5% alcohol by volume (ABV).
